CFL 2014: Week Two

Ottawa makes its return to the CFL this week, a road trip into Winnipeg that will highlight the debut of the RedBlacks as part of the CFL collective.

The third go around for the nations capital offers up a solid core of ownership, a completely remake of Lansdowne Park (now TD Place Stadium) and a buzz for Canadian football in the city that has been missing for a long, long time.

The RedBlacks will be providing the barometer on the rise of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who came out of the gate in week one as though they were defending Grey Cup champs and not the squad that had a horrid time stringing together wins in 2013.  If week one was any indication, football fans in Winnipeg will be looking to get the fever sooner rather than later.

The rest of the week provides a test for the Alouettes who looked horrible in week one, with week two no walk in the park as a very angry BC Lions squad will be looking to reverse last weeks miscues in their opening week loss to Edmonton.

Those Eskimos can look to extend their winning streak as they play host to a Hamilton Tiger Cat team that looked very much to be a work in progress in week one.

While the defending Champion Roughriders will travel to Toronto, for the wrap to week two on Saturday night, a prospect that could see the Argos facing dire times less than ten days into a brand new season.

Below, we'll provide the scoreboard for the week, as well as any items of note from the first week of the brand new season.
