With a seven game winning streak in their pocket, the Lions arrive for week sixteens workday with perhaps two things on their mind, keeping their eyes on the task at hand and not letting any overconfidence seep into their thoughts.
Considering the woeful state of the Saskatchewan Roughriders this season, expecting to take two points out of Mosaic Field might be the first thing that pops into a players mind, but with nothing to lose but to play spoiler at this point (and maybe show a little something for management for next years considerations) the Riders could make the Lions last trip to Regina this year a lousy one.
The Lions have an opportunity with a win to gain back their hold on the CFL West, Edmonton took over the top spot (temporarily if the Lions have their way today) when they knocked off the Bombers on Saturday night.
With the Stampeders stumbling on Friday , the final act of the four part CFL weekend provides the Leos with the chance to keep their momentum on the rise and put some distance between themselves and the Stamps, while keeping pace with Edmonton and setting up what could be a pivotal showdown in Vancouver in two weeks.
That in itself should provide the incentive to not take the Riders lightly, not that a team would heading into the face of the Mosaic Field faithful, a collective who probably won't be nearly as fanatical as they would normally be in a more competitive year.
That could be a bonus for the Lions, who will need to just concentrate on their own execution of plays rather than deal with the noisy extra curricula's of the once boisterous Rider Nation, a slightly subdued bunch these days it seems.

CFL Gameday: Hamilton at Montreal (October 16)
The good news for the Tiger Cats heading into Sunday's eastern clash is that we don't believe that Anthony Calvillo can set accept any new awards from the CFL today, he can however add to some of his existing totals and somehow we imagine that those numbers will expand as Sunday moves forward.
Hamilton's inconsistent nature of late gets another opportunity for reversal on Sunday afternoon, as they struggle to remain within striking distance of their CFL east partners in Montreal and Winnipeg.
With the Bombers losing in Edmonton on Saturday however, the Alouettes we imagine will be itching to put their stamp on the game and take their share back of the CFL East Division lead, a victory which if it comes to pass would move the Als into an undisputed hold on first place with 20 points and set the table nicely for next weeks' match up with the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg.
For the Cats, who are once again starting to fade in the late going of a CFL season, considering their struggles at gaining momentum this year falling further behind in the standings is setting their table for a playoff post season that will require road trips at every step of the process.

CFL Gameday: Winnipeg at Edmonton (October 15)
In years gone by, a late season battle between the Eskimos and the Blue Bombers would probably have a major impact on the West Division and the West Division only, but since the days that the Bombers became considered an Eastern based squad things haven't been quite that dramatic.
Still, with both teams involved in a tight race for their respective division titles these days, Saturday's result could have dramatic impact on how the season may end for both.
The Bombers who have handled some late season injury adversity quite nicely come into Edmonton on the heels of a timely and quite convincing victory over the Hamilton Tiger Cats, the Eskimos on the other hand were less than sure footed in their victory over Saskatchewan last week.
The fact that they earned a victory over the offensively anemic Rider squad has done little to quell the fears that the Eskimos are still perhaps a bit away from making the leap from contender to champion in the West.
Saturday's match up with the top ranked Blue Bombers will provide coach Kavis Reed some insight into how his team is going to go heading into the final stretch of the regular season and highlight for him what is working and what needs to be worked on heading into the CFL playoffs.
For Winnipeg, Saturday's game is a must win, especially if they wish to keep the Alouettes at arms length heading into the CFL's final weeks, where a win or a loss could make all the difference for playoff seating at the Grey Cup banquet table in late November.

The Friday Night Football kickoff to week number 16 of the CFL season offers up two teams in very different places this CFL season, the Calgary Stampeders in the thick of the battle for first place in the West and the Toronto Argonauts currently playing for next years positions, far out of the race in the east and just counting down the days until they clear out their lockers.
With that narrative for our Friday night kickoff, the most entertaining part of the night's football buffet may come at half time when the Annual Wendy's kick to win competition takes place, somebody in Toronto could end up a big winner tonight, but chances are they won't be wearing Argo blue in the process.
Calgary has had their problems with consistency through the year, though nowhere near as many as their competitors tonight, but it's been a year where offensively the Stamps just haven't measured up to where most thought they would be at this season.
The one thing that the Argos have going in their favour tonight though is the fact that they really, have nothing to lose, there's little pressure on the collective, other than the audition call that the final weeks of the season will provide.
Providing they can spend a little less time focused on their twitter accounts and a little more on the actual playbook and events on the field, they could make Friday night a competitive evening.
