Gibson's Players of the Week (Week Three) July 17 2012

Week three of the Gibson's almost provided for a sweep by the Montreal Alouettes, spurred on by the last minute heroics of Mr. Calvillo and Company, the Gibson's judging panel awarded three of the four weekly awards to those that wear the Rouge, Blanc et Bleu of the Als. The near sweep of Week three, propels the Alouettes to the top of the overall selection scale, holding down four nominations over three weeks of play.

Offensive Player of the Week

Anthony Calvillo Montreal Alouettes QB

The master of the last minute drill, AC once again provided the evidence as to why he's still one of the best Quarterbacks and leaders in recent times in the CFL. Calvillo brought his Als back from a serious deficit to snatch victory away from the Calgary Stampeders, a performance that earned him offensive honurs for the week.

Defensive Player of the Week

Jerald Brown Montreal Alouettes LB

The Als winning streak in week three continued as Jerald Brown collected defensive recognition for his work in the Stamps game, a frequent visitor to the Calgary backfield, Brown's dominating presence caught the eye of not only the Stampeders quarterbacks and running backs, but of the selection committee as well.

Chris Williams Hamilton Tiger Cats, KR

It was the Chris Williams show in Hamilton this week, as the Tiger Cats kick return specialist made the Argonauts pay frequently for the error of their ways, that of kicking the ball in his direction or with wide field goal attempts that Williams returned for TiCat points.  One of the most exciting players of the week, he's full value for his nomination.


Top Canadian

Shea Emry Montreal Alouettes, LB

The Alouettes capped off a remarkable comeback by collecting their final award from their week's work, as Shea Emery got the job done on defense, picking up the Top Canadian of the week award for his efforts.
