Not surprisingly, considering the record breaking day and attached attention that he received from it, Anthony Calvillo is the lead attraction on this weeks Players of the Week.
Calvillo was given the nod for offensive player of the week, thanks to his work against the Argos on Monday, a game where Calvillo became the all time leader in yards passing in professional football. The selection marks the fourth time this year that AC has been named to the Gibson's honour rolls.
Team mate Anwar Stewart takes home the defensive honours for the week, acknowledgement of the key role he has with the Alouettes defensive squad.
Paul McCallum had a lock on the special teams player of the week award, having set a new CFL record for consecutive field goals, then having it come to an end, McCallum added to the drama of week fifteen and won another key game for the Lions with his last second field goal on Saturday night, a dramatic kick that sealed his selection as special teams player of the week, the third time this year that McCallum has been named to the honour rolls.
And Jerome Messam continues to add to his personal awards roster, once again claiming the top Canadian Player of the week from his running game on Sunday against the Riders. With his selection Messam joins Anthony Calvillo at the top of the Gibsons Awards this year, this marks the fourth time that he has been named to the awards this year.
