The Labour Day weekend delivered a few surprises on the scoreboard and maybe a few for the Gibson's Awards as well, as the panel considered all the outcomes of the weekend play.
Seeming looking no further than Friday for three of their four picks. As the BC Lions claimed two of the four spots on their weekend efforts, with Travis Lulay collecting the award for Offensive Player and Akeem Foster receiving the nod as Top Canadian, while the Argos despite a thumping at home salvaged a spot in the awards line as Chad Owens gained a Gibsons for his work on Special Teams.
The panelists it seems were also impressed with the Labour Day Weekend turnaround for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, naming Jerrell Freeman at their Defensive player of the week.
