Heading towards the middle of September, the first two weeks of the month have provided for quite a few highlight reel moments, this past weekend featured the Labour Day rematches and four players stood out among all from the weekend's action.
The Lions said their farewells to Empire Field over the weekend with a victory and the success continued on into the week as two Lions were named to the Gibson's Players of the Week roster for action over the weekend. Khalif Mitchell claimed the Defensive honours for the week, while Paul McCallum gained the Special teams nod on the week, his second time on the Gibson's rolls this season.
Saskatchewan's continued domination over their rivals the Bombers proved beneficial for Craig Butler, his game changing hit on Winnipeg QB Buck Pierce propelled Butler to the top of the list as Canadian Player of the Week.
Montreal's revenge on the Tiger Cats was engineered by another stellar game by Anthony Calvillo, a performance that was duly noted by the Gibson's selection panel whom named the Alouette QB as their Offensive Player of the week. His selection marks the third time this season that Calvillo has been recognized.
